Community College Vs. State College Vs. Private Colleges

As a transfer student, your SAT/ACT scores dissappear. You’ll need to transfer based on your performance at the CC.

Lots can change in the life of a 17 year old.

I’d suggest you plan and prepare to apply to a variety of 4 year schools (including a handful of CSUs you are likely to get into) as a freshman next year. Visit a few campuses too, you’ll be surprised at how nice schools like Sonoma State are. Talk to their business departments - see who recruits there. I think you’ll be shocked.

Make the decision next April. You’ll likely have a very different outlook then. In the mean time, keep the doors open as long as you can. Take the SAT one more time and see if you can add 100pts. If you choose a CC then transfer, that option will still exist.

Good luck.

This is not always true. You need to check with each school. And they ARE required at Illinois Wesleyan. https://www.iwu.edu/instres/dataset/iwu-cds-1314-d-transfer.pdf</a>
