Community Service Hours

Hello, I am a Junior in HS currently and I have 3000 Community Service Hours (Yes that is the real number, not a typo) at my local Fire Dept. It is a full time fire dept. with a Cadet program from which you volunteer your time while learning and going on emergency runs with the Dept. I have been apart of this program for four years and I am also the leader of the program. My question is how will colleges look at this when I apply?
(Also I am a 3 sport varsity athlete, student council, NHS, DECA, and FCA member, so all my time isn’t spent in the program but I do devote A LOT of time, as you can see)
Thank-you for your time.

Bump

While I am not an admissions officer, and this is only my opinion, that level of commitment is impressive and will be a plus on your application.

Thank-you for your opinion and your response.

I agree with @yonceonhismouth that is some serious commitment

“My question is how will colleges look at this when I apply?” It is definitely a positive. How much so depends on the schools in which you are interested. I can certainly see them thinking of you as the “firefigher” applicant. How well you can tie that into the rest of your application to make yourself stand out is the real question.

No matter what, your community is very lucky to have someone so committed. Kudos to you for caring that much.

Great, thats what I was hoping. Thank-you for your reply and kind comments
