I'm thinking of applying to UCSD as a biology major but I heard you need a certain amount of community service. Is this true? I heard you need about 100 hours to have a chance to get in or even be looked at. My volunteering hours are not that great so should I get to 100 to be safe?

Missing the entire point of community service.

Lagging, I’m actually not missing the point of community service at all. I already have a handful of volunteering hours because I wanted to help out and give back to my community. I was simply asking if it is true that UCSD requires 100 hours or not.

Not sure what it is now but before when it had the point system, the cliff for point is 150 hours and 300 hours. So 100 hours community service is still way below its cliff.
