community service

i really want to do community service that is meaningful and helps the community but it seems that there are few opportunities availible that I would like to do. There's things like volunteering at the library but nothing that I feel passionate about. I dont want to just insincerely volunteer.

What do you think I should do?

Hmmm, well, do any of your friends/family suffer from any diseases that could benifit from your help. I am a type 1 diabetic, and ever since I was diagnosed, my family and friends participate in a lot of local charity events (not a ton, but enough) that support diabetes organizations. (We are more biased towards JDRF that the American Diabetes Association)

Anyways, if you know that a grandparent or someone else suffered from cancer, go volunteer for local cancer funding organizations or walks that would be in good memory or support of that friend/family member. You see where Im getting?

My D is on the youth build steering committee for our county's Habitat for Humanity. She started a H for H club at her school, and as a steering committee member, she plans, fundraises, works on an all-youth home build. It has been a wonderful experience! I would definitely suggest looking into that.
