At the moment i'm in the summer before entering junior year and have decided I want to do some community service. I want to do it not only for the college process but also for other reasons. But either way I can't seem to figure out where there are volunteer opportunities because I have no recourse for finding it. Can anyone help me out and tell me where I could look to volunteer? Thank you!

animal shelters, homeless shelters, food kitchens, old folk’s home, hospitals.

We don’t have too many of those around because unfortunately we are a more wealthy section, but I’ll look into them. Although I could look into the hospital but I was hoping I could find something related to my future ambition (Business)

Do you have local public radio or television stations? They are always looking for volunteers and you may learn a bit about marketing, development, fundraising, etc. Also, even in wealthy areas there is probably a place to work with seniors. They often just want company and you meet people that will share amazing life experiences.

Why don’t you get a job? If you truly live in a wealthy area, the local grocers or Wal Mart or other places need summer help. This will be a good experience for you (or anyone) as a HS student.

I like the radio idea and could look into the senior thing. Also I already have a job at ShopRite.
