Commuter Students

Do commuter students get a meal plan???
It would really suck if we didn't.

im commuting from brooklyn. my only reason why i will be living at home is because i just moved to a new house and its BIG compared to a dorm room. Maybe ill live in rose hill for junior and senior year since i hear its much nicer.

I'm commuting because FU is an 18 minute ride on the MetroNorth... it would be a waste of cash to live on campus for me.
And of course, my room is wayy better than any dorm room. ;-)

Commuters can get a meal plan, but there is free food every so often. Check the cafeteria.

1989DC, did you look at the LC dorms yet? hmm...

um... no i didnt.. im attending rose hill

your input is always appreciated Eruestan

The LC dorms are really decent...apartment style.
A suite
A big common area
2-3 Bedrooms with 1-2 additional roommates each
1 Kitchen
Closet Space
1-2 Bathrooms depending if you have 4 or 6 people in a suite.

This is open to all Fordham LC students.

I attend Fordham University at Rose Hill, and you can purchase a meal plan. You can put a certain amount of money on your ID and swipe it at the Cafeteria, Student Deli, Millennium, etc. I put 300 on in the beginning of the year, and I still have 50 dollars left on it.

wow that is pretty stinking good. I looked at the mealplans online, and i saw that they all cost pretty much the same $2000-$2300. Do you have to buy a meal plan or can you just tell the university that u want X amount of cash on ur card, and just go eat until ur card runs out?

Yes, that's basically what I did. At orientation, they hand out this meal plan booklet (or you can pick one up from the cafeteria), and they have a section in it that's specifically for commuters. I believe that my amount (300 dollars) was an option, but I'm pretty sure you can choose your own amount.
