Comp Sci and Faculty - Questions

<p>Hey! I was wondering if anybody could tell me more about the computer science program at ut austin, specifically in the area of research in artificial intelligence. </p>

<p>Also, can anyone tell me about the faculty and advisors? Are they really helpful in getting back to you about things you need, or do they seem to be overwhelmed all of the time with the number of students and are unable to help you individually? When I visited, Calvin Lin seemed to be a really helpful professor, having helped every one of the comp sci students at least once even though he was really busy. </p>

<p>Lastly, is anyone double majoring with EE? Can anyone tell me how difficult it would be to double major with said majors, and still carry out research?</p>

<p>My son is a double major, Plan II and CS. He is just getting started with CS, but is very happy. He likes his prof now and has met Calvin Lin. From what he said, I think your impression of him is correct. I’m sorry I can’t give you more information. Maybe a current student will post more information.</p>
