Hello, I’m having trouble deciding which school to go to. I’ve toured both SJSU and UCSC recently and honestly both campuses are nice enough in which I decided that won’t factor into my decision. I currently applied for Computer Science for both schools and got into the school of Engineering for UCSC and Undeclared for SJSU. Here’s what I’m thinking currently:
SJSU:
-Since the location is in the middle of Silicon Valley, it means a higher possibly for a great career?
-Harder curriculum or professors more lenient? CS hardest major @ this school?
-Classes in this major are extremely impacted making it take longer to graduate, 4.5 - 6 years
-More of a one way street kind of deal compared to UC’s where you still have the possibility of transferring to another UC.
-high risk high reward since it’s more highly regarded?
UCSC:
-Safer option? Since if CS is too hard there are other solid majors to switch to
-CS is solid here?
-Still possibilities for internships
-UC reputation with the name known
Those are just many of the considerations I’ve came up with. Which school should I go to?
