<p>I applied recently as Comp Sci Major to UCLA.</p>
<p>I have a 3.8 and unfortunately I got rejected but I got accepted to my alternate (Philosophy).</p>
<p>Is it possible to switch majors once i get into the school or is it impossible since it's different colleges?</p>
<p>If it's impossible I am thinking of going to UCSD if I also get rejected from Berkeley. Thanks in advance.</p>
<p>UCSD has a VERY good CompSci program so if you do end up going there stand tall, you won’t be sacrificing in terms of academics.</p>
<p>That said, if you really like UCLA contact the Engineering school and find out what it would take to switch, if possible. Do not under any circumstance give up CompSci just to attend UCLA though, that would be the biggest fail of all.</p>
<p>I am surprised with a 3.8 you didn’t get in… it must be impacted @ UCLA. I hope you get Cal, that would be the best of all for CS.</p>
