I read that each student can only get one scholarship and that the company scholarship is easier to get (and for the company my parents are affiliated with, considerable more than a one time 2500 dollar scholarship). Is there any way to prioritize the company scholarship, without rejecting the national merit scholarship if it is offered? Similarly, is there any special procedures for the company scholarship, other than filing the company form the year before and entering my parents workplace (which actually doesn’t even fit). Thanks so much for your help!
Each company has different rules, so your parent will have to find out. Not all companies require the 'year in advance" application. My H’s company did, but not all do.
You can only get one “official” NMF award, but you can get both the corporate and a college one if the the college only has part of their NMF award be “official”. The colleges with the huge awards only count a tiny bit as official.
Thank you. @mom2collegekids . I’ll try to vie for the corporate reward and contact the college about their NMF scholarship when the time comes
