Compare/Contrast: Lafayette vs. Lehigh Computer Science Department

I've looked at both Lafayette and Lehigh, and I've found that they're both wonderful schools. I'd be happy at either one, even though everyone else is telling me to go to Lafayette. Out of curiousity, which one has a better computer science department? They're both accredited by the board of Engineering, and Lehigh has a very large engineering department, but which one has a better computer science department overall? (i.e. opportunities, grad placement, study abroad, interships, etc.) Thank you for the help!

Sorry to add a third to the mix, but why not consider Bucknell? Better than at least one, probably both, of them. And an ok chance at any.

@morrismm: That’s actually pretty funny, I was considering bucknell, and my uncle keeps trying to get me to visit and apply there. I’m also considering Villanova, but Lehigh and Lafayette were in close proximity to each other, so I figured that would be easier.

…bump…

I think for undergrad it is going to come to a question of fit. Lafayette, and to a lesser extent Bucknell are better thought of as LACs while Lehigh is an NRU with much more research. This is evident if you start looking at National Academy of Engineering and Science membership of the faculty…Lafayette and Bucknell have no members, while Lehigh totals 12. Students bodies are virtual clones of each other…and all will get you into top grad programs if you do well. So, it will be a question of if you’d be most likely to flourish…and only you know the answer to that.

Hmm, I haven’t thought of it that way. Possibly you’re right.

…bump…

More opinions please.

…bump yet again…

Lehigh is much more difficult to get into but worth the try as it’s ranked #14 on Playboy’s Party School list. You might as well enjoy the best 4 years of your life!
