does anyone know the differences between lehigh and lafayette besides lehigh is a little bigger?

theyre pretty much similar in every way besides that. lehigh is in a tiny bit of a bigger town, and lafayette has more endowment

im applying to both now

I vote with two hands for lehigh,
do some more research on the two schools and you will se why.

me too- lehigh has more options and is rated higher- also the campus is nicer

When it comes to science and engineering, Lehigh has vastly more resources...no comparison. Lafayette is more of a LAC.

I looked at the two of them too, but I decided that I didn't like either of them. The campus at Lehigh was great, but the town that surrounds it is pretty shady. I felt that the town around Lafayette was also pretty shady.

I don't know, I'm a small town girl and wouldn't feel safe walking around the town...

The acedemics are good though...try checking out Bucknell, especially if you're interested in engineering...that's where I'll be going...

Although Lehigh has a better rep, Lafayette doesn't have TAs which is a HUGE plus IMO. Also, I liked the Lafayette campus better then Lehigh.

I applied to both though

I live about 10 minutes from lehigh and about 20 from lafayette, I'd definitely go with Lehigh, its got a much better rep. especially for job placement, both campuses are alright IMO, but i'd go with lehigh. By the way Harasbunk, the area around both campuses IS really shady

yea its shady, but a lot of the best colleges are surrounded by sort of run down towns. besides, lehigh and lafayette's campuses are pretty much completely separate from the town. it doesnt sound like the students even go into town that much except to maybe bars

on princetonreview.com, from 357 colleges, lehigh was number 4 (it think) in category town - gown relationships are strained. But who cares?

thats a good thing. means the students party really loud and late

No, there are seperate categories for that :).
Just check princetonreview.com 357 colleges rankings, its interesting really.

shady surrounding towns is definately taken by case western...hands down

i don't know...my family and i went to visit rensselar and we never got out of the car...

to say in short.......LEHIGH ROCKS !!!

Be prepared to hike up and down the hills at Lehigh on a daily basis. You may not think that is anything to be concerned with but I've listened to students complain about how it's a pain to hike so much. I've experienced it on tours and visits and it will definitely get you into shape.

Hills aren't really a problem but I was concerned about hills+snow... I was assured, however, that they are always well shoveled and salted. Could you imagine mastering the stairs with tons of snow on them....

Lehigh is better IMO, better science and business i think, nicer campus
