I have a adequate SAT score to get into USC, but there are others in my school with higher GPA and SAT scores. MY SIBLIMG DOES ATTEND USC. Will i get in?
GPA 3.78
SAT 1970
The highest GPA in my school is a 4.35, and he has a 2330. What are my chances of getting in compared to him.

well if you are both applying....i wouldnt count you out...but cahnces are kinda slim. the average SAT at USC is like a 2080 or something close to that. and as for GPA....it seems a bit low. IS that weighted?
i would say your chances are on the low end.

The 2330 will get in before you do, but perhaps you will both be admitted. Depends on the WHOLE application: EC's, recommendations, GPA, SAT's, rigor of schedule, etc.

Fox,
SC's scores and GPAs of freshmen have been rising each year. The mean composite score of admitted students for fall 2008 was 2108. If you are trying for the Schools of Theatre, Cinematic Arts or Music the competition is brutal.
On the SC admissions website is a complete profile of the freshmen class which just enrolled. For the incoming class for fall 2009 over 36,000 applications are expected. Bessie is correct. The entire application is read and considered. My suggestion is to retake the SATs and hope for an improved score.

Try the ACT?

If you are posting about USoCal, then yes, a 2330 will easily be accepted, even with lower grades.

there are so many other parts besides gpa and sat.
if you're good in all other areas i think you have a great shot.

ur gpa and sat score are just fine. also dont forget for sat u take the best score of each section and can be from diff sittings.

like for me....my sat score was ****ty...my gpa is a little higher than urs. i have 8 ap classes total.
and my essay is really good....whole struggle of being gay arab muslim ...all that jazz

so just write a good essay . you should be fine
