An honest answer from a current Berkeley (preferably science/pre-med) student would be appreciated:

I've heard from what I consider to be a reasonably reliable source that the competition at Berkeley has become ultra-vicious. I've heard that some students will often stoop to doing things like ripping pages of required reading out of library books, swapping chemicals in other people's labs, etc., in the attempt to sabotage classmates. I'm sort of considering berkeley, but it's a big decision, so could someone who goes to berkeley comment on any of this?
