I took a bit out of my day to make this. I took data from posts in the UofM Fall/Winter 2012/2011 transfer topics and compiled them into this document. The accepted stats are on the first page. Rejected Stats are on the second page. Averages are provided for both.

Obviously this is not very reliable. Generally, CC kids are smarter. Also, most people who are rejected do not post their stats. Because of those two factors the stats are likely higher than they should be. 60% of transfer applicants are rejected but in the CC data, 80% or so were accepted. Take it as you wish.

Wow, that is really interesting! I’m a transfer student in my second semester at Michigan and I how scary and confusing the transfer application process can be… this would have been very helpful when I was applying last year Even if it’s not reliable, it’s still interesting to see the general trends in admitted students. Thanks for making this!

I think the only unreliable part of this is the averages at the end. I reluctantly put them in, they are likely higher than the true averages.

I am applying for Winter 2013 transfer yes. I also fit the exact average of a transfer student application haha. ~3.75 college GPA, 60 incoming credits, 30 ACT.

Best of luck to you! I cannot imagine you getting rejected with those stats… it took me three tries (two rejections, one acceptance!) before getting into Michigan, so I understand how tedious the application process can be, but I really hope you get accepted for Winter 2013 :)

Interesting data, and it seems pretty consistent with what I’ve heard about UMich transfer admissions in that they prefer juniors/applicants with more credits.
