When universities that superscore ACTs post their 25/75 ACT ranges, are they posting composite scores or superscores? For example, Boston College superscores and lists its 25/75 ACT range as 30 - 33 (I think). Does that mean accepted BC students had composite scores or super scores in that range?
They post what they used to evaluate the student.
Thanks, that makes sense, but it makes it a bit misleading when comparing schools that superscore with schools that don’t.
Superscoring helps the school as much or more than it does the applicant as they get to report higher numbers.
For schools that really care about stats, a 700 is viewed as much more desirable than a 690 on an SAT section, and. 30 ACT considered much better than a 29, due to the way data is broken out in the common data set. A 30 goes in the 30 and above bucket vs the 24-29 bucket.
