Computer Engineer or BME undergrad

I plan to transfer next year, currently I am torn between these two majors, computer engineer or biomedical engineer. I really like BME and it was my first choice. I find biology interesting along with math. However, I heard that the job aspect with a BS in bme is limited....and I don't plan, at least not yet, to attend a graduate school for MS. My GPA isn't really that spectacular either, I'm merely near a 3.0.

At the moment, I don't think I can get in a really good program for BME, other than SJSU, UCR, UCSC, and or University of Santa Clara. So I'm afraid after finishing my BME undergrad, I will be limited to finding a job. I think I might be better off to go with Computer Eng. and perhaps pursue a MS for BME. How well does CompE BS transition to BME MS? Is the

I have already taken all my math classes, from Calculus series (1,2, variable) to Differential EQ and Linear Algebra. I got all B's in the Calculus courses and two C in DE and LA. However, I believe I can earn Bs or As in DE or LA if I had put more effort (Barely studied for those two courses).

So for next year, I can either take Ochem A/B, Physics B/C, and some Engineering/Comp courses before I transfer as BME. Or, I can take Physics B/C, Comp/Engineering courses for CompE and transfer.

What are the job outlook for BME or CompE with a BS? I know the gov. outlook for these majors already. BME is expected to have a high growth rate, but I want others opinions.

Choose what career make you happy, enjoy working in future, that’s VERY important?

Both job are great, based on salary, working opportunities, culture …

FYI comtuper engineering is the best job for college grade with highest-paid college majors

Thanks, I already know the median job salary for both. And being in either makes me happy. I’m just asking whats the job aspect for BME compared to CompE. I know from the forums here, some are having trouble getting a job with BME bs. I also looked at other forums as well that stated the same thing.

I’m only asking people opinions rather I should go from CompE bs first and obtain a BME later on MS if I choose to obtain a higher education. Right now I don’t have that goal in mind getting a MS. BME is interesting, but I’m concerned with a BME BS and not being able to obtain a job.

For what it’s worth, I was having a conversation with one of the associate deans of the College of Engineering the other day at Texas A&M. He flat out said that a BS in biomedical engineering/bioengineering is only really good for two things: pre-med or pre-research. In other words, don’t get an undergraduate degree in it unless you plan to go to graduate school afterward because there aren’t a lot of jobs out there looking for undergraduate BMEs.

Well I’m not into researching. So I guess compe
