<p>But if you look at all the high school in Northern California, the list of kids going to SLO is quite high, numbers > 30-40 per high school.</p>

<p>I'm a Cal Poly grad and can say that the the most representated is the Bay Area. Many students also go on to work there after graduation (myself, for example). I don't have stats for that, though.</p>
<p>25%- Bay area
16%- LA
7%- San Diego</p>

<p>I've also don't think I've ever heard anyone say SLO is in either Northern or Southern California. It's in Central California. Right in between SF and LA.</p>
<p>^^ you'd think it might be central California (on the "Central Coast"), but what's odd is that my town is a little farther north and is considered to be in southern California. As for the represented areas, what about southern California in general, not just LA and SD?</p>
