Computer Sci/Engineer Major then Med-School?

I'm a senior in High School and graduating in 2010. So i've been looking at colleges lately, and my main goal is go to into the medical field/become a doctor. I really need assistance for taking the right path, i know so far that to get into med school there are pre-required courses that i need in order to apply. However, i know alot of people who usually graduate with a BS/BA with something related to bio or chem. I want to major in computer engineering and i was thinking if this was a good path?

To take classes and major with a computer engineering degree, then go to med school. I want to know if this will be a hard task, because i dont know if the classes for comp engineering will help benefit me to med school.

What do you guys think? Please help me out.

I’d recommend checking out the stickied threads in the Pre-Med Topics forum, starting with this one:

That should answer a lot of your questions.

Sure, if that’s what you want to major in go for it. You wouldn’t be the first. You might have to take a few more credits overall, depending on how many electives you can use to take pre-med classes, but overall it shouldn’t be imposible. At the worst you could take a class or two over the summer.
