Computer Science at Emory

What is the reputation of CS at Emory?
How popular is it?
I like the environment of Emory, but I am a bit concerned that most students are pre-med or business majors
Any insights will be appreciated.

@Bop : I’m not sure if there is a majority of students in those two categories after freshman year (the amount of pre-business people is often stable, but pre-med declines dramatically). And I don’t know how popular CS is as a major (it has never been the strongest department, but it provides the training it needs to), I just know that its courses have very high enrollment (and growth of enrollment), so like at many universities (especially ones with tons majoring in STEM), the department has gotten much more popular. However, at Emory, lots of people really major in math, math with some joint-major, or applied math (and now QTM which requires and encourages computing experience), so despite the pre-professionalism (found at many if not most elites BTW), the scene is much more complex and even the pre-professionals have complex academic interests that include STEM majors often not associated with their tracks (and things like undergraduate access to computational life sciences, especially biology and neuroscience are growing because of initiatives to promote them). I think it is fine regardless of whatever those percentages are.
