I know that there is a combined program for computer science at ucsd, but I need to apply like during my senior year or something. Is computer science at ucsd relatively difficult in general? I guess I'm kind of anxious because I don't really have a computer science background to begin with. Is it definitely possible for me to get accepted into the combined program 4 years from now assuming I'm an average student? Or is it one of those programs that only the super computer geniuses can get into? Even if I do not go into that combined program, what is the general difficulty level of computer science on a four year plan?

survive CSE lower div first and see how it goes. I met some here who changed their major after a couple lower div courses like CSE12 or CSE30. For BS/MS 5 year program, at the end of your jr year (you have to apply at least 4 quarters before you grad date to get into the program right after that) look back and see you stats then you can chance yourself :D. Typically, people who got accepted have GPA roughly 3.5, 3.6 - 4 + crazy exp, internship, out of class projects, awards and excellent letter of rec (very important)

One tip tho, professional connections, the more you have, the easier in preparation for 3 letters of rec (for BS/MS app)
