I noticed in the Viterbi Engineering bulletin it shows on the chart of classes for the CS major that you need to take 3 semesters of foreign language. Yet, for Computer Science/Computer Engineering major, no foreign language classes are listed. My son is under the impression that he has to pass 3 semesters of foreign language as a CS/CE major. Anyone know about the foreign language requirement if CS is part of your major but your major is combined with another area of study?

If your son is CS/CE he does not need to take a foreign language. If I am remembering correctly from sitting in on some of the student/parent sessions last year (my S just finished his freshman year), the CS major has that requirement because it is also part of CLAS. If the major is only within the Viterbi school, it will not have the foreign language requirement.
