Computer Science Grad School Chances

Hi I’m interested in applying to masters programs for computer science particularly those in the top 30. I’m a senior in biomedical engineering at a good public engineering school. I have a GPA of 3.12 and gre of 152 qual 160 quant. I have experience researching in a comp sci lab and 2 internships under my belt at a well known company. Considering my gre scores are well within the average for programs like Harvard do I stand a chance?

Hi I’m interested in applying to m.eng 1 year non thesis programs for mechanical engineering particularly those in the top 30. I’m a senior in biomedical engineering at a good public engineering school. I have a GPA of 3.12 and gre of 152 qual 160 quant. I have experience researching in a biomedical lab and 2 internships under my belt at a well known company. Do I stand a chance at programs like Duke, uPenn, Columbia, and Cornell?

I believe in this field your portfolio is one of the key determining metrics. I’m not familiar with the GPA and GRE expectations in this field, but do some research on that in the programs you are interested in. However, that GPA does seem low to me for top schools in general.

Is it common for bme students to get into comp sci or mechanical engineering? Would it require taking an extra year of classes?
