Computer Science Major??

I will be applying to Uconn as well as many other schools but will most likely end up going to Uconn. I was wondering if there are any Uconn students majoring in computer science I would like to know how hard the major was for them as it is a major I am very interested in. I love working with computers but my strongest subject are NOT in math, I am taking just academic calculus right now and am doing really well but this was due to me dropping AP Calculus due to an unfortunate case of senioritis that I acquired recently. ;/
Is Computer Science a very intense major as well as compared to other schools such as Northeastern, BU, and WPI (other colleges I am applying to)?
I understand Computer Science is hard major in general but I have also heard that computer science has been quite easy depending on several universities. I guess I was hoping that UCONN would be one of these.
Stats:
GPA: 3.6
SAT: 1940
(i'm expecting to take the math ii, bio, and world history subject tests as well in december)

aww come on isnt anyone majoring in computer science at UCONN?

I’m a computer science major at UCONN.

If you’re trying to pick a college based on other people’s opinions of how hard their computer science program is, I think you’re choosing for the wrong reason. You should pick a college based on how you like it, if you think you will fit in or not, and a few other things such as cost, ect.

Computer science is hard for some, easy for others. You cant determine which of your colleges has the easiest computer science program by simply getting people’s opinions. Some people catch on easily, some think it’s extremely difficult, and others will say it’s easy if they’ve had a lot of prior programming experience. In general, as with all college majors, it will never be “quite easy”.

So, pick the college you want to go to, and go there. If you don’t like computer science, then you can change majors.
