computer science, purdue vs arizona vs rutgers

Hi all. Im an international student so costs are relatively similar. Just want to ask for your thoughts on how the program fairs between the 3.

I know purdue is the better of those schools (especially In the area of CS) but i also heard good things about rutgers and arizona. Esp the U of Arizona. Friends in the US have told me about the rising reputation it has and it is a good school to enter. Rutgers is also highly valued as a school in new jersey.

Im currently waiting for my admission decision into purdue and rutgers. I have already been accepted into the U of A for the fall of 2015

Hope some folks may share with me their experience!

I’d rate them equivalently for undergraduate CS.

I love the U of A campus.

Thanks @simba. Anybody else can share with me your thoughts!?

Bump. Please help friends

If you get into all three, then think about what other experiences you want to have outside the classroom. Rutgers is close enough to NYC that you could go there regularly on the weekends, so if you like the cultural offerings of big cities, that’s something to consider. Several other big cities are accessible as well for a weekend trip. Rutgers is also the most ethnically diverse university in the USA. Arizona is in a mid-sized desert city near the coast of Mexico with many Latinos. It is sunny and warm most days of the year and has lots of swimming pools, and yet is surrounded by mountains, with one snow-covered mountaintop 27 miles from campus that people can go skiing on, so it’s an incredibly unique location. Purdue is cold and in a small town in the middle of nowhere with not much to do. Take your pick.

Hi @mommyrocks, really great to hear about the different environments. Im currently leaning unto rutgers due to the new honors college it has, and also U of Arizona as i heard its a really amazing college, beautiful campus and gearing towards really good rankings/international reputation

with that being said… purdue is so recognise in Asia. Being singaporean it has an active alumni as well. Im really afraid i wont be able to find people from my country in rutgers and U of A. Most i know attend ASU. Just out of interest, will it be a factor for you?

Bump!!!
