Computer Science Transfer UC Santa Barbara

Hello! I hope you all have had a wonderful first month of the year. Would any of you mind giving me your most brutally honest opinion of whether or not I will be accepted into two schools: UCLA and UCSB (In other words… Chance me!)

GPA: 3.7
Major: Computer Science
California Community College? Yes.
GE’s: missing one GE but I was told major prep is all that matters so do not worry about this part. (IGETC).
Other info: third-year transfer (Still junior-level transfer), involved in MESA program, clocked in 110 volunteer hours, and an participated in school’s Engineering club.

The sole reason I decided to go to a community college is to have another shot at these two schools. I understand that in the end, it does not matter what school you go to in terms of having a great career, but having visited both of these campuses, it has always just been a dream of mine. The representatives from UCSB have always told me to maintain a 3.6 or higher to be competitive. However, looking at their average GPA’s for accept CS majors and the small size of their engineering program in general, I am deeply worried. Thank you so much for your time, I will appreciate all of your input! Good or bad

Did you finish the required base prep courses?
