<p>I am addicted to my Macbook, but I understand that freshman students receive PCs at the beginning of the year. Can I continue to use my Mac, or will I need to transition to a PC for school work?</p>
<p>There are a few people around campus that do have Macbooks. It depends - you can probably continue to use your Mac for most things if you’ve got MS Office, but certain applications that you’ll need will be on your PC such as Maple (calculus), the astronomy program, etc.</p>
<p>Yeah, the best part about the Wake computers is the amazing software load that they put on them (I miss my full version of Photoshop that I had to uninstall when I graduated). But no one particularly cares what computer you use to do your work unless you need one of the special science programs or something.</p>
<p>You can absolutely continue to use your Macbook. The computers Wake gives you aren’t that great. You can use them for specific required work where the programs are useful, but otherwise you might be better off using your own computer.</p>
