Right now I’m a sophomore at a community college in California. I am majoring in Computer Engineering (want to go for robotics) and have all my GE done. All I need to finish up now are a bunch of math and physics courses. Cal poly Pomona only requires that I have my GE and Calculus 1,2 finished to transfer over so I don’t know if I should stay here at community college and finish up my math/physics (1 more year) or just transfer over there next fall so that I can take my math/physics with my engineering courses. My main concern is that if I finish it all here then when I get over to cal poly I will only have my major specific core classes left meaning I don’t know what else I’d take with them. I would only be able to take like 1 or 2 engineering classes per quarter and since I have everything else done it would be very slow I guess? It would just feel like I wasted my time taking all of my math courses at community college when I could have been taking them at cal poly, have a fuller schedule and save a year of my time.
Another thing, I don’t know if I should transfer to cal poly or UC santa cruz. I want to work in robotics and UC SC is one of the few schools near me to offer a robotics major. If I went to cal poly I would major in computer engineering which I think is as close to robotics as I could get though I’m not sure.
