I got a likely letter and got accepted to Columbia College as Rabi Scholar. (regular decision)
I had 4.0/4.0 in my senior 1st semester and my cumulative GPA was a 3.71/4.0

Now, I kind of screwed up and my grades are

AP Econ A -> A-
AP Biology A -> A
IB Chinese A -> A-
IB Math HL A -> A-
Creative Writing A - > B
Sociology A -> A

So basically, 2As, 3A-s, and a B.
I am just really worried about the B.
Should I be worried or is a single B fine? Actually, this B might drop down to a C.. since
I have more homeworks coming up. Is a single C okay? or no?

You shouldn’t be worried. They only rescind for significant drops (such as A’s and B’s to D’s and F’s). That said, try your best to get a B, because that still looks better than a C.

Hey, so I had some A’s and B’s, and they all stayed in their ranges, but one B- went to a C. Is this too bad, or is this not “significant” enough. The others all basically stayed the same.

Nobody ever gets rescinded for academic reasons. Perhaps if you failed a class, you would be in danger. If you got a D, you’d probably want to send a letter apologizing and explaining what happened to the admissions office (this actually happened to my best friend in a class after he got into Yale SCEA and he was fine), but you will almost certainly not have your acceptance rescinded. I’m not saying you should strive to barely pass senior year, but don’t worry about rescission. It effectively never happens for academic reasons!

It’s okay, but try to maintain good grades. Don’t slack off during Senior year. A lot of people have told me that it bit them in the @ss later on in life.

@abbreviations

People have told you that slacking off and getting slightly lower grades in senior year of highschool hurt them later in life? Seriously? No one gives a damn about undergraduate GPA after your first job; who would judge you by your high school GPA?
