I was going to transfer to Stony Brook, but due to the economy, I felt Cornell CALS was the best choice. My question is that my college has a transfer agreement with CALS but I'm unsure how it works. </p>
<p>Online it reads:</p>

<p>The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) has transfer agreements with several Community and Two Year Colleges that offer programs that match the mission of CALS. CALS welcomes applicants from students attending Community and Two Year Colleges and has established agreements to encourage and assist students with their transfer planning. </p>
<p>These agreements stipulate that students who attend an agreement institution, who are pursuing their degree, and meet the following transfer criteria are guaranteed admission.</p>

<p>First Off, "and meet the following transfer criteria are guaranteed admission" ? some people said that you are a competitive transfer if you meet the criteria, but at the bottom of the page reads: </p>
<p>Please note: You do not have to attend one of these agreement institutions to be admitted to CALS. Although there is not a guarantee of admission, students who are attending other Community and Two Year Colleges where CALS does not have an agreement and who also meet the same criteria are competitive transfer applicants and are encouraged to apply.</p>
<p>So, what I'm not understanding is if I meet these requirements, I'm guaranteed transfer?</p>

<p>Transfer Criteria:</p>
<p>1) Complete required courses for intended CALS major with a B or better. See required preparatory courses. </p>

<p>I should be able to complete the preparatory courses, by the end of next semester, including 2-3 courses during the summer. ( I chose the hardest classes I could, but they weren't the one's required lol)</p>
<p>2) Earn at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (3.5 for Biological Sciences).</p>

<p>I have a 4.0 cumulative, and very driven to maintain it till transfer. </p>
<p>3) Complete the Cornell transfer application and meet deadlines</p>

<p>I will, any tips? </p>
<p>4) Demonstrate solid interest and fit in the CALS major that you are applying in your essay.</p>

<p>If this agreement is what I think this is, can I sign it before I complete the prep courses?</p>
