Concerning Inter-High School Competition

what is the deal on this?

if like a good 6-8 people are applying to say cornell or columbia from a single high school, and all the students are different, how does the school decide who to take? can they only accept one or two? do athletes fill up the spots allowed from the high school?

for example, 1 double legacy URM but not great grades/scores/etc, 3 top of the class students, 2 recruited athletes, and a couple middle of the road students

im pretty sure the middle-of-the roaders dont get in, but if the 2 athletes are accepted, does that take away all chances of anyone else getting in? or are they completely different? and does the double legacy get over the #1,2,3 ranked stundets in the school?

im beginning to feel concerned about my chances of getting into my first choice school because other ivy-league-application-runners are just throwing themselves into the pool cause __________ university is reputable or __________ college has the word ivy after it, and because 2 recruited athletes from my school are like already in.

whats the word on how many an ivy will accept? from one school? or is it based on the area you live in?

well in my school the double legacy got in over the smart people.
but it all depends on wat school it is, u should check the acceptance rate of legacy of the school.
it's still possible to get in, it'll just be a lot harder than the other people. so dont give up!

also 6 ppl from my school got into cornell last yr, so they do take a lot.

from last year
s graduating class of 120, stanford took in 3 (which doesn
t seem like a lot, but that would be 2.5% of the class) and cornell took in another 3, so it`s possible to take in multiple people.
