So in the admissions letter it says "any significant drop in grades or negative change in any info submitted can cause a revocation in admissions"... what negative changes or significant drop in grades are really significant or that negative. I was a nearly 4.0 student last year, but maybe this semester i will be lower, well i can guarantee i will be - soph taking all upper level and honors courses with averages which are in the B to C range... I'm doing better then most classmates, but still... It is nerve racking b/c my last two bio tests i have been 89.7 and 70.0 while classmates have been 78.0 and 65.9 respectively.

Sorry i am a transfer student... that is why i am in this forum

Wrong forum, and I don't know the specifics for U of M, but usually as long as you don't drop SIGNIFICANTLY, meaning you go from a 4.0 to a 1.0..you should be O.K. If you stay above the 3.0 mark you should be in good shape, maybe someone else has done a little more research about this..

Oh O.K. I see, sorry. Well in that case, I'd shoot for 3.5 or so (if this is possible), but a little lower probably won't hurt. I think they just want to make sure you don't don't get the idea "I've gotten into UM, so now I can fail all of my classes until I get there!"

yeah, that is far from my goal. truthfully, i would love to go to ND and they base decision off of final grades so i need to keep them up as high as possible but UM is most likely where i will be from a cost effective basis. and UM has begun to sway my decision as of lately, it is appealing in many more realms...

snwrider - Might those classes not be curved for your final grade? It looks like you are well above/above the class average so far in tests, if I understand you correctly.

My particular advice would be to visit each prof during ofc hours (along with whatever else you might be doing to improve the grades - study groups etc). Profs are human. They will notice and appreciate that you are coming to them to learn how to do well in each class. They will very possibly take your effort level and concern into account when choosing your actual letter grade in the course.
