Hey everyone I am in a weird situation with Cal. I was recently admitted! Very excited but in the conditions of admission it states that you need to maintain a grade of a C or better on every course but the gpa for the term must be over 3.0. I am taking 9 unit in the spring. Calculus is 4 units and I'm earning an A. Organismal bio is 5 units but I'm warning a C. It's been pretty tough this semester to focus on my work due to personal reasons. Anyway, my gpa would be 2.9 but I'm not getting any Ds or Fs. What will happen? I've already contacted my admissions officer

I’m awaiting on a reply from my admissions officer

Hmmm, interesting…Its hard to say for sure and your best answer would definitely come from an admissions rep. I think they could still possible rescind your application, as maintaining a 3.0 is still a conditional agreement even though its not as a result of of D’s/F’s… I can’t imagine that they would be very lenient with their conditions of admission, unless for some reason you had extenuating circumstances. They’re pretty strict about things like that. I would do everything possible to keep your grade up in your bio course to avoid any potential consequences- Talk to the professor, seek tutoring, etc. You’ve made it this far, now finish strong so you can transfer up and out to CAL! :-)

I hope I do not get rescinded from cal. A letter grade of a C is most likely going to be my grade in my bio class. I’ve never coped with the death of a loved one before. The beginning of the spring semester was hell for me. The only reason I’m doing so well in calc is because it’s so familiar to me. I took calc in HS. Anyway, enough of that. Crossing my fingers

My admissions officer said it was fine!! First and last C I’ll ever get!

How did you get through man?? I’ve been trying to get in contact with them all day and I just get my admissions officer’s message machine.

@RyRy805: Keep trying. =) I been calling mine the whole day, and was finally able to get through around 4pm. She told me, she had been very busy for the whole day, as many of us were asking her questions. If you can’t get through today, try back tomorrow.

So true… I can’t even imagine how busy UCB and UCLA’s Admissions Offices must be!

I’m so scared guys. I wrote down I was gonna take a course but couldnt enroll in it. Not GE, not pre-req. It’s a math class. Confusing thing is that I come from another 4 year university. I am scared they may confuse it for it being part of my prereq since there isn’t assist to help with transfers.

I am really really scared, anxious, nervous, out of my mind. I contacted my admission officer with a really really long email and I did not get a reply.

Do you think an admission officer makes decisions or do they end up consulting a different people? I am afraid this will take long and will drag out my pain :(

Thanks
