You think you are far behind?
My class is having a quiz on the civil war tomorrow.
Chapters 20/21 in American Pageant.
Yes. I know.
Pathetic.

@elaslawek: ouch. But I wouldn't be disappointed yet. A lot of schools, like mine, try to finish early (like we are going to by the end of the month) to just practice the rest of the year. If your school isn't doing that, you may just be on track to finish just a little before the AP Exam. Which could be a good thing - you may get more information and go into greater details about the topics. So don't worry too much.

Hang in there TestMonster. As an AP Lang teacher I find myself learning more and streamlining every year. I am not sure I will ever get it perfect (penny question on our test last year came out of left field), but I do the best I can. Students who feel it is worth their effort will respond to whatever you throw at them. Just help them learn how to think and give them the confidence to trust themselves and things will work out.

Oh, and continue to work hard yourself, students know who mails it in and who makes the extra effort to make constructive comments etc. Sounds to me like you love the challenge and have pride in the result. Good Luck-you'll do fine.

It's true; i've heard also that the Crash Course book prepares students better, since it focuses more on what battles etc the AP test actually ASKS for. go for it--follow it instead!

well last year, the day before the APUSH exam, the title of the lesson was "1914-Present"
so yea, ill have a LOT of self-studying.

I don't know how the APUSH teachers at my school do it but we studied every single chapter American Pageant when I took the class last year. Everything was planned out from the beginning so we didn't rush through anything and even had several weeks to prepare for the AP exam. This is how it's been for every other AP class I've taken.

Btw, we only spent a couple of days preparing for the state exam.

Great job TestMonster.Thanx for your helpful threads and posts. We need more dedicated APUSH teachers. My teacher is behind and apparently doesn't care.
