We are only on the Gilded Age 1877-1900 and are having a test on it next week. Everyone else I have talked to is on WWII. Where are you right now and do you think we have any chance of finishing with only 6 weeks before the exam? (We will be off for Spring break).

Does anyone have any suggestions to speed this teacher along?

Wow, we're currently doing Ch. 38-39 ('50s) for spring break homework, and we'll be done with the book before April so we'll have a month to cram review.

Personally, I'd say you're gonna have a hard time trying to finish the book.

We're on chapter 22 of Brinkley (Progressivism/Reform, WWI is next). It's going to be a close call for us finishing before the exam but my teacher has it scheduled out so we should make it.

Also, if your teacher doesn't assign reading I'd try to get through a couple of chapters during break if you still feel like you're behind at that point. It's possible for you to finish even if the class doesn't...

WOW, i am on chapter 38 ( vietnam, berlin crisis, etc..)in the American Pageant, and i will be finish the first week of April. I really don't think you will have enough time to get through by MAY 9 (APUSH exam). I believe i did the Gilden age before christmas break. Right now i don't even think intense studying will get you caught up, because there is so much information to learn.

Well i wish you luck, and hope you slap your teacher for going so slow.LOLOLOL

We just finished WWII and are on the Cold War. I don't think you'll ever be able to finish. Man what are your AP scores? Has this teacher taught before ? Our teacher gets all 4's and 5's and a few 3's. But she finishes a few weeks ahead and then we review. you'll just have to start doing it all on your own.

I took APUSH last year and it sounds like a lot of you are in the same situation I was. My teacher was out a lot during the year and we got realllly behind and when she was there we moved realllly slow. (The last forty years of American History were covered in one 45 minute class period 2 days before the test). My best advice is to start working through all the chapters on your own. If you're only at the gilded age then you have a longggg way to go. If you're on spring break then take the opportunity to read and outline one or two chapters a day. I know that's probably not how you want to spend your spring break but I did it last year and it's not that bad if you're disciplined about it. At this point, it's how much time are you willing to put into it on your own. It paid off for me and I got a 5.

dont worry about it... my apush teacher was pretty incompetent teaching-wise and i still dont know what happened after 1910... world war ii? nazis? communism? whaaat?

haha but i studied the rest and still got a 5. hooray!

jus finished the progressive era...im guessin i should start studying on my own...greattt. would you guys think that jus studyin amsco and old outlines be good enough to jus get the main idea? or would that not be good enough?
