I've searched through past threads to find an answer to this, but can't seem to find it...

Here's what I did:

FAFSA filed for 10 schools.

Confirming email received from FAFSA.

I found a mistake and corrected the FAFSA.

NO confirming email about the corrections has been received even though it has been 6 days since the corrections were made. The corrections DO show up on the online SAR.

Here's the question:

I need to file the FAFSA for 5 more schools. Do I need to wait for this email before I change the schools? Is there even an email headed my way about the corrections?

Does anyone on CC know this? Thank you so much for helping me with my confusion!

This is EXACTLY my own question!! I’ve been waiting for an email for the corrections before I submit to more schools, but haven’t gotten one (it’s only been 2 days, however). CAN ANYONE HELP? Is it okay to submit to more schools if the corrections show up on the online SAR?

I’m the OP and I never got a confirming email, so after a week or so I called FAFSA to ask about it. They said that all my changes showed on the SAR (which I could also see online), and they then added/deleted 5 schools for me. I probably could have just done the addition/deletion myself.

So, no, there isn’t always a confirming email. I’m not sure how that rumor got started.

Thanks so much, camathmom. I figured I’d give it a couple of more days, then just go in and change it since the changes do show already on the SAR. Thanks for verifying! When they added/deleted schools, did they only take off the number you needed to add, or did they clear the entire list?
