Fellow CCers, I have taken the January SAT and don't know whether I should register for the March one because I haven't gotten the January scores back. Since the registration for March SATs ends before the January scores are given, which of these two options is the better:
(1) signing up for the March SATs and cancelling if my scores are up to par or
(2) not signing up for the March SATs and, in the event that I'd have to take it again, sign up for late registration
Either way, if I have to take the SATs again I want to take them in March, but I'm still confused as to my course of action. Thanks!

I’m in the same boat as you but I decided to take the June SAT instead, giving me more time to study and see my scores (taking Subject Tests in May, near APs). But I also know people who took the January SAT and signed up for the March one. I think it depends on how much time you have to study, since if you take the March one you have about a month left, versus taking it in May or June.

I signed up for the March test after taking the January test. I don’t know if I should cancel or not, as today is the last day to do so, if you can even cancel after you sign up. My plan was to take the US History SAT Subject test in May, and then take Math 2 and Physics in June. I didn’t really want to have to take 3 Subject Tests on the same day. One other concern that I have is that my goal is 2300+, but I only have a month to study, and I don’t want to take the SAT a third time, for that might make colleges think that I only care about scores.
