Bad freshman year. A great sophomore year. Going to my junior and knowing that the terror of college applications are soon to come, what can I do to to enhance my chance of going to stanford or a school that’s on the same caliber??? I’m hearing that stanford don’t care about freshmen year, is that true?
What do you mean by “great”? 4.0? It is true that Stanford DOESN’T care about freshman year.
Get the best standardized test scores you can (obviously), try to find internships/work experiences related to fields that you’re interested in, learn how to effectively convey who you are and your passions through essays. However, outside of this, I don’t think there’s much else you can do now that you should have set a foundation for earlier, such as ECs. In the end though, these schools are long shots for all applicants, so don’t be discouraged or think you’re not good enough in the event you don’t get in, as you have plenty of chances to succeed in any college and in grad school should you choose to pursue that path. Best of luck to you though (:
By great i meant I had a 4.2 weighted gpa sophomore year
