confused about EA/ED

just wondering, what's the max number of schools that you can apply EA/ED to? i guess no more than 1 ED since it's binding, but what about EA?

depends on the EA. some schools have restricted EA, but with regular EA there really isn't a limit.
ED is limited to one.

Different schools have different EA policies. Starting next year, Yale and Stanford are the only EA schools that say you can only apply to 1 college EA. Georgetown and BC say you cannot apply to any schools ED (I think a few other colleges are like this). Colleges like MIT and UChicago allow you to apply EA and ED to as many schools as you want (only 1 ED though because it is binding). ED schools like Penn allow you to apply EA to as many schools as you want so long as they are not like Yale or Georgetown. Princeton used to be an ED school that said you could not apply EA or ED anywhere else. You have to look at the college's early policy to see how many places you can apply early.

Depends on the school. Some are single-choice EA, meaning you can only apply to that school early, but you don't have to go if accepted. Otherwise, I believe you can apply to as many as you'd like.

EDIT: Others beat me to it while I was typing.

oohh i see, thanks everyone!
