Confused about interview!

So, I requested an interview, and I got back an email giving my interviewer's name and contact info.
Then it said, "Using the contact information provided, please feel free to contact your alumni interviewer as soon as possible to help initiate arrangements for your interview. He or she will likely email or call you as well, so please check your email and voicemail regularly."

Does that mean I should prabably contact him/her now? Or should I wait?

I would go ahead an contact the interviewer. It couldn’t hurt. And it may take some time to set up interview arrangements. No sense in waiting until the last minute. Just keep the phone call or email brief, courteous and professional.

Although my D didn’t have to initiate interviews for UR (she interviewed with a traveling rep), she did for some of the other schools she was interested in. Not once did the interviewer get irritated or annoyed by her being proactive. One was actually quite glad to hear from her because the interviewer had “misplaced” [read: lost] D’s contact info.
