hey guys, i dont know if this has been discussed yet but do we contact the admissoffice to be scheduled for an interview or do we get contacted by someone in our area? i logged onto the website to check if all my credentials have been submitted and there was a woman's name on there with a phone number.. but idk what its for? am i supposed to call her? sry if this is a stupid question.. but i would like to know! thanks!

I think you're supposed to wait but if you're not contacted in a while you can call.

This question gets asked a lot, I guess they could make it clearer. I interview for Tufts and will answer it the best I can..

If on your application, you noted that you'd like an interview, you are entered into the alumni interview database. That woman whose name and phone number you have is your local committee chair. She's probably someone who lives in your area, but she could also be someone who works at Tufts.

That person is reponsible for assigning interviews. She may not have started the process yet, waiting to see how many applicants she has and how she can best cover them with available alumni volunteers. In some locations, there are more interview requests than the committee can handle. She may also just be busy.

If all goes according to plan, she'll assign you an interviewer, and that person will contact you in the next few weeks. If time goes by and you're not contacted, you might want to contact the woman--the local committee chair--yourself. Don't feel that you must make the contact, just do it if you really want an interview and you're getting concerned.

If the interview is especially important to you, there's no hurt in letting her know that you're really hoping you can be matched up. For the most part, sit tight! And if you feel that your transcripts, test scores, recommendations, and essays present you well, don't give the interview another thought.

Best of luck.

On TAMS it says that you'll be contacted within four (4) weeks. I haven't ben contacted either so I'm just sitting on my bum waiting :P I'm sure they'll make that call!

i hope i get contacted soon. i applied EDII :x

same here :x

On this topic, and just wondering (I realize I can just tell them if they contact me again)...

I felt compelled to select "I want an alumni interview" even though I already had one after being contacted a few months ago; I just didn't want the committee to think I was not interested in an interview. They will see that I've already had one, right? Has this happened to anyone else?

PS. Does anyone know how much weight Tufts gives to (alumni) interviews? Because mine was awkward. Not bad, but very strange.

Don't worry about the alum interview; de minimis "weight." And if you already had one, you certainly shouldn't be doing another one.

Yaaaay! I got an e-mail!
