I never received an email from an alumni for a U Penn interview. Will I be disadvantaged in anyway?

I’ve been checking my emails and my spam box, but I haven’t been contacted by an alumni. I’m really worried if this would cause my application to be disadvantaged and lower my chances of getting in.

No, it probably means that there is not an interviewer in your area. There is no harm done to your application at all. Don’t worry you’ll be fine!

If there’s not an interviewer in your area you’ll be contacted for a virtual interview like skype or phone. Interviewers have until the 15th so you still have some time. Also, it wouldn’t lower your chances either way.

@rebeccar @collegeready33 I live in NYC and a few of my classmates have already gotten their interview for U Penn. Do you suggest that I wait a while before contacting the admissions office? Thanks for your responses though. I really appreciated them!!.

I only hear from mine last week so there’s still time. You won’t be at a disadvantage if not though, don’t worry about it!

Btw, alumnus or alumna.
It’s not late yet.

No, I wouldn’t contact the office. This is how it works: we sign up to be interviewers and specify how many people we can interview. A regional coordinator then assigns us interviewees. I only got mine last week. It’s up to us to schedule an interview before 2/15. Not only does your interviewer still have ten days, but if for whatever reason they never contact you, it won’t be your fault or your problem. There is no way that not having an interview will hurt you.

@rebeccar Since you guys have until 2/15 to schedule an interview, technically I can still be contacted on 2/15 for an interview for a later date? I’m so sorry for all of the questions. I’m just a bit nervous. But, thanks so much for all of your answers!! I really appreciate your help!!

@Anonymous261 No worries! Technically, we’re supposed to have our interviews REPORTED by 2/15. However, they’re now arranging for an urgent second round of interviews for people who still didn’t receive any by then. If you’re going to be contacted, it’ll probably be in that second round. But about half of applicants haven’t been interviewed so I wouldn’t worry. They try to get for every applicant, but it’s just not possible because there’s not always enough manpower. If you don’t receive one, it won’t be your fault and it won’t be held against you.
