Confused about Interviews

I'm applying to USC because I'm really interested in the scholarships. Am I supposed to sign up for an interview before/during the time I apply? Or do I just sit back and do nothing until they contact me for an interview for scholarships (assuming I am selected)?

If I do an interview before they contact me for an interview for scholarships, does that mean I no longer have to do the interview since I did it before?

So confused, can someone please clarify

You only do scholarship interviews AFTER they contact you. Right now, you could do a regular admissions interview, but it's not for scholarship consideration.

Thank you for the clarification

The pre-scholarship interviews are not required, but I would recommend them. There were 3 people from my high school who did the interviews, and 2 of us got scholarships. Also, the person who interviewed me was actually the asst admissions dean from my area and he was friendly and so helpful during the application/waiting process. He actually remembered me by name whenever I e-mailed him, and his e-mail response waiting time was much shorter than the admission office's (compare 1 day vs 1 week). A contact in the admissions office is invaluable, trust me... especially when you have something urgent to talk about and the general admissions # puts you on hold for an hour. Just meeting someone in admissions and being able to keep in touch with him/her is well worth doing the pre-scholarship interview.

Anyway, best of luck to you!

My admission interview is coming up soon, what questions should I expect them to ask me?

I second that comment. I saw my interviewer once again at one of the admitted student receptions and then again at Orientation. She recognized me both times. I suppose it's kind of cool for them to see a student throughout the process.

Make sure to thank your interviewer as well - a short e-mail is fine.
