Confused about mail vs. online submission

My counselor informed me that I have to do all my common apps on paper. She sent me transcripts and evaluations on paper, and I asked me teachers to write paper recommendations and mail them separately. I also registered with common app, creating an account and selecting the schools I'm applying to, but not submitting the application fully. How do I do the rest of my app of paper?
I understand how to print out all the forms, but do I type the essays and paste them (keep in mind I have horrible handwriting)? Also, how do I pay for my application? Check by mail? Will I have to have all my teachers register online even though they are submitting their recommendations on paper?

Thanks in advance, I know those are a lot of basic questions.

I'm 99% certain you can do the Common App online and just do the teacher/counselor recommendations on paper. That's what I did, and I don't know why your situation would be different.

Anyways, if you're completely sure that you have to do everything by paper, go to the Submit section of your Common App online and then hit Print Preview. Read through it and there should be instructions for attaching essays, and you can also print your apps that way. In the Supplements section there are also Print Preview buttons that you can use.

I don't know about doing the other things.
