<p>I am considering transferring to a different university because my current one doesn't offer the types of courses I would like to take. I asked about how many courses must be taken at this potential school, or if there was a limit to transfer credits accepted, thinking that perhaps I could stay in my current university as long as possible because it is cheaper and then transfer later on. They said there is no limit to transfer credits from a four year institution, however "you just need to make sure that you complete your last 30 credit hours here". </p>
<p>I am a little confused on this though. I would like to do a major in marketing with an applied statistics minor, which my current school doesn't offer. I was hoping I could stay at my current school to get as many marketing classes out of the way as possible first. I know most schools have this 30 credit hours must be in residency thing, so I am wondering if someone could explain how it works in general. Does this mean it must be 30 hours of classes that count specifically towards the marketing degree? Or could it be, for example, 21 hours to fill the minor requirements and the remaining 9 towards the major requirements. Basically... could I transfer in at the beginning of senior year and take 21 credits for the minor and 9 for the major and have that count as my "last 30 credits"? Or would it have to be 30 credits that are specific towards the 120 required for the marketing degree, plus the other 21 for the minor?</p>
