Confused about scholarship

Hey all, I'm kind of lost about how the whole financial aid thing works? I recieved the Provost scholarship, which is $3,000 a semester and my tuition is around $2,300. So what happens now? I went to the orientation and am registered for classes and it says the payment is due August 31st. Is there anything I have to do? haha I got the scholarship but for some reason I don't feel like I have it yet? Is there some account the funds go in? Or is it all automatic? And what happens to the leftover funds? Also when does Bright Futures come up? I applied for it and should receive their highest award but I don't see anything yet....

Sorry for all these questions! I'm just really confused haha if anyone could explain how it works I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

So once classes start, the school will take money out of the scholarship for your tuition. If the scholarship covers all of the tuition, the school will then use any remaining to pay off housing or other fees you have. If you still have money left over, then the school will give you all the remaining money about 2 weeks after school starts, by check or direct deposit, depending what you set up.

At this date, I would contact student financial aid if I were you - my daughter is a freshman this fall, and her scholarships and bright futures already show on her account -
