Confused about transfer from California CC

Hello all,

I am from a SoCal CC and was hoping to originally apply to Haas as a transfer, unfortunately, although I have gotten straight As in all my classes, I received a C in a calc class (long story, but I've been in a long fight about this basis of this grade with the school that is ongoing as we speak). Anyways, this has severely hindered my GPA and I'm starting to look at alternative options to Haas. I know grades aren't everything but I'd like to keep options open. Here are my questions:

When applying to Haas, are you also allowed to apply for an alternative major? I have heard that the applications are separate from each other.

I am looking at both Econ or Computer Science in L&S, and according to the transfer requirements for CS, it requires completion of the IGETC but from there on the classes are recommended to be completed but not required. Would not completing all these classes make me uncompetitive?

If you apply for one and get accepted, is it possible to change from either Econ to CS or CS to Econ because they are both in the L&S?

I am currently on track to finish all my prereq classes for Haas and Econ + I have completed linear algebra.

If anyone at Berkeley currently could shed light upon my questions that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: This may be in the wrong section, so I will go post in the UC transfer section as well.

Economics and L&S CS are both capped majors, so you need to complete the requirements with a high enough GPA to declare the major.

IGETC will replace L&S breadth requirements; if you transfer without IGETC, you will need to complete L&S breadth requirements (although some of your CC courses may fulfill some of them, depending on articulation as described on [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) ).

Thank you. I will be completed with the L&S breadth at the time of transfer, but for majors such as applied math and compsci I won’t have some of the prerequisites done. The 61 series isn’t offered at my school. If I apply for Applied Math and get accepted, do you know if it’s possible to double major in CS or Econ?
