Confused about what to do in life

I got accepted into only BU out of 14 schools. lol. BU let me study aerospace engineering, but I’m also interested in physics. I want to work for NASA or go into academia. I self-studied the two AP Physics C exams last year. I love physics and I am very nerdy. I hate working with other people (unfortunately).

Am I better suited for aerospace engineering or physics?

Physics is a very hard profession to find a job. seriously, I know many undergrdads with those degrees who never found anything ( other than teaching, and several worked at lawrence livermore on interships) Even with a PhD its hard. Areospace not so bad, many more opportunities in private an public sector as well as academia. I had a roommate in college for Aerospace he went to NASA ( Penn State Grad in Aero) My sister had a friend who wnet as well to NASA, he was Imaging engineering at RIT. quick look at the NASA website shows no Physics jobs, and a few Aerospace Eng

I woudl suggest a dual major if physics is that easy for you. Probably you can do it easily many of the same math courses I bet. My son did math with engineering and it was for fun ( 4 extra classes at a top 30 school)

My D and I spent the weekend at BU (and other Boston colleges) and first off, congratulations! Great school. Also, they emphasized over & over how encouraged and supported it is to trade and change majors…you can take a few courses and decide then…one kid went in as an accountant and went out as an archaleologist…

This will hold you back regardless of your career choice.

If you hate working with others, NASA and other big companies you might want to work at isn’t an option. You could be a teacher or a professor for physics but those job openings are hard to find

I have been recommending Math, and stats with a background in programming ( learn a language in your free time like Ruby, python or others.) write this down, BIG DATA , jobs are big money and not enough math majors. Perfect job for an analytic type who does not like to work with others
