I applied to my state flagship but I turned them down. I nicely replied to them by mail as well as online. Today I received a disclosure statement about direct loans. It listed the state U as my school, loan number, the amount and everything. I didn't apply for it and didn't sign anything. In fact I didn't apply for student loans anywhere. Do I just ignore it or do I need to contact the school? I wanted to make sure that I am not responsible for any of it! Thanks!

At some point, you must have accepted your loans online at the school. As long as you are not enrolled in any classes there - sometimes students forget to drop their classes if they had already enrolled before deciding not to attend - your loans will never pay out. Eventually the school will cancel them. To avoid any issues, though, contact the school and ask them to cancel the loans.
