Confused/Forgot to Send Resume....Am I Screwed?

The title says it all. My guidance counselor confused me on the resume part, and most of my extracurricular, leadership, and community service were not spoken for. These were some of the strongest parts of my application. Regardless, I sent an email with an attached PDF of my resume to my regional admissions officer. Am I completely screwed? I tried my best to explain my situation.

Bump, I am tweaking so hard right now.

I hope you didn’t put blame on your GC in your email. You are responsible for understanding the application requirements at each school, proofreading your application, and making sure through the portals that everything is complete. Lesson learned the hard way, I expect.

I remember my son saying that Penn said on their website you should not send in extra info (i.e. resume) unless it clearly adds/explains what your application could not… got the feeling they don’t want you to send in resumes…

That said if you just sent it in recently- I’m guessing that it didn’t get read unless they are on the fence about you as they are probably done with most decisions…

Hopefully your activities section, recommenders, essays conveyed most of your endeavors/ attributes…
Best of Luck

Most students, especially freshmen, will not have enough on their CV or resume to justify submitting them. Those that do are usually nontraditional students (who already have significant working experience or the like).

Anyways, it’s fine if you didn’t send in a resume. It is/was optional and if there wasn’t much for you to add to your application, it’s just extra papers.

I sent in a resume that had a fair amount of duplicate information as the Common App, but I thought it would look weird if I condensed it due to formatting, etc. I also included a page at the end of my resume with pictures, showing my involvement in different EC’s. Did anyone else do that?

Photos are going to be considered unusual. But not necessarily disqualifying.
